Sofitel London St James Presents "La Parisienne by Sofitel"

Sofitel offers Parisian glamour, decadence and culture with the “La Parisienne by Sofitel” experience.

Being the first French international hospitality brand, Sofitel Luxury Hotels has exquisitely upheld its standard of French art de vivre and passion for luxury hospitality. And it’s been succeeding in doing so since 1964.

Starting from September 27 until November 17 2016, Sofitel‘s travelling exhibition “La Parisienne by Sofitel”, hits London at the Sofitel St James. The exhibition features photographs of the world’s most celebrated women, shot in magnificent Paris and focuses on the community of Les Parisiennes, exploring and celebrating their style and culture through the decades. Curated by the famous French magazine Paris Match, this two-part exhibition delves into the magazine’s archives, dating back to the 1950s, with some shots from the famous photographer Emanuele Scorcelletti. You can expect to see images of iconic females like Catherine Deneuve, Jane Fonda and even more recent legends like Inès de la Fressange and Lou Doillon.

Now on to the exciting part… In honour of the photo exhibition, the hotel announces a series of incredible La Parisienne themed experiences, exclusive to hotel guests. The hotel has partnered with fashion blogger Ella Catliff, of La Petite Anglaise, to curate the fabulous experiences. Make sure you’re sitting down for this, because you’re about to get hit by a tidal wave of decadence.

First up, the hotel is offering La Parisienne Personal Styling Service, which ties in with the start of Paris Fashion Week. A personal styling and shopping experience designed by leading celebrity personal shopper Gabrielle Teare, this luxurious affair is expertly catered to a guests’ budget, style and lifestyle.

Complement your updated style with La Parisienne Hair Styling Service, crafted by one of the Capital’s most fashion forward salons, Paul Edmonds London. Complete the makover with La Parisienne Beauty Service, giving customers Parisian glamour from the comfort of their hotel room. The service includes a 15-minute facial analysis and consultation, followed by a 45-minute make-up application, using only the most luxe skincare products. You will be in the careful and capable hands of one London’s top professional Make-Up Artists, Ann-Marie Lawson, who’s worked on everything from campaigns to catwalks.

Melt your cares away with La Parisienne Spa Treatment, held at SoSPA. Pamper yourself with a 90-minute anti-aging and regenerative facial, accompanied by a relaxing 30-minute Oriental Dream massage and 30-minute manicure, all with a glass of champagne in hand. SoSPA exclusively uses model and actress Marisa Berenson’s range of products, which include re-energising oils, nourishing elixirs and sense-awakening scents.

After feeling refreshed and revitalised, head on over to the Rose Lounge, which has been transformed into a conceptual exhibition space with designs by French illustrator Laurène Boglio. There you’ll find La Parisienne Afternoon Tea, complete with scrumptious, traditional treats such as finger sandwiches, freshly baked scones with rose scented strawberry jam, along with a selection of Parisienne pastries such as mille-feuille. Push your hedonism over the edge and treat yourself to an elegant Cointreau cocktail at St James Bar, which is designed to resemble Coco Chanel’s 1920s Paris apartment.

Finally, if you’re feeling much too indulgent to even leave your room then fret not, as there is a room service option available in the form of La Parisienne Champagne and Caviar Testing Menu. This service includes 15g of Sturia vintage caviar, paired with a lavish glass of Moet Champagne, of course.

During the opening week, fashion illustrator du jour Willa Gebbie, will be available each afternoon sketching delightful illustrations for those who want a chic little keepsake to take home. The event is an absolute embodient of Sofitel’s aura of culture and art de vivre. As an ambassador of French elegance, Sofitel is proud to celebrate its heritage and bask in all that is Française. Très superbe, we say, très superbe.
