Illustrator Laura Callaghan has been a total Wonder-fave since we first saw her exhibition at KK Outlet this Summer. The collection of prints and T-shirts saw her poke fun at the ‘inspirational’ Insta-quotes through her tongue in cheek depictions of modern-women in actually relatable scenarios. This week sees the launch of her first jewellery collection with Tatty Devine, creators of super cute 3D accessories. Harriet and Rosie first fell for Callaghan’s work at London graphic design festival Pick Me Up and have, like us, been mega-fans ever since. Of her work the duo told Wonderland, “We love the female focused subject matter of her work which is filled with so much humour and attitude. Her illustrations were just waiting to be turned into jewellery.” Touche! We caught 60 seconds with Laura to find out more about the collaboration, available online and in store now.

How did the collaboration come about?
Harriet & Rosie got in touch back when I was preparing for my solo show about a possible collaboration, I’ve been really interested in finding ways to make my art wearable recently so it sounded like the perfect opportunity. I brought some paintings along to the shop and we went through each to see what could potentially evolve into a jewellery piece. Harriet has a really good eye for what would work and had some great ideas, I’m so used to just working on paper or on screen so it was really interesting to think about things in a more 3d or layered way!
What’s your fave piece in the collection?
I love how the Ida necklace turned out, the piece that it’s based on was very personal to my own experiences at the moment and I think Harriet did an amazing job of pulling out little elements of the painting to tell a story.
Who do you want to wear the pieces, did you have a girl in mind?
Every girl, any girl…or boy!
What kind of attitude do you want to bring to the person who wears them?
Fun, strength and a dash of cynicism. I just want to pieces to make the wearer feel good!
