Premiere: THANKS – "Livin' My Life"

Catch a case of electronic disco fever from Copenhagen based duo THANKS.

With a name so polite, how can you not have a little love for artists named THANKS? The producer twosome, consisting of Anders and Anders, are all about making electronic music that you can bounce to. Not only do they know what they’re doing, but the pair also know the secret formula to a hit song. All THANKS (see what we did there?) to the fact that they were both formerly members of the pop-tastic Danish band Alphabeat. They love to make up beat music inspired by house, funk, soul and rock.

Following from their debut single “Dizzy” which went top 10 on the Spotify UK Viral chart, THANKS has a new track called “Livin’ My Life”. Taking Jill Scott’s 2004 track “Golden” and switching it up to create a new and improved version, the two have made a house/pop anthem.

Stumbling upon the acapella to the track on YouTube, the two thought it had a real disco vibe. They ended up creating “Livin’ My Life” without ever actually listening to the original song. But it’s all-good because they ended up with what they describe as a, “funky chopped-up jam with some serious boogie vibes”.

Words: Mariah Rosslee

The anticipated track is set to be officially released on 19th August via Copenhagen Records.
