CK One Gold

CK are shedding gender norms with their new take on a 90s classic.

We all know about CK One: Calvin’s unisex fragrance has been a modern icon since its release in 1994 – when its adverts and campaign featured a young, oh-so-waifish Kate Moss. Well, never ones to rest on their laurels, CK are releasing a luxurious update on their trademark scent in the form of CK One Gold. The new take is all about youth (surprise-surprise) in all its unfettered, devil-may-care joy. Described as “tribute to the youth who can do no wrong” – which sounds sort of like you, right? – the fragrance is for the kid who turns everything they touch into gold. That Midas touch explains the blinged out bottle dripping in gold, then.

Maintaining the cross-gender appeal of CK One, the new edition “fuses the energy” of both the sexes: which sounds pretty impressive to us. In person, that means a fragrance which hits first with a topnote of vivacious fig, before letting the bright sparkle of neroli roll over the scent’s wave. Giving longevity and plenty of heady atmosphere to the whole thing is the classic base of vetiver – a true perfumers’s favourite. If all that doesn’t make a whole lot of sense, fret not. Thankfully, you don’t need to be le nez to appreciate this limited edition eau du toilette (or to be as carelessly young as Rhiannon McConnell either).

CK One Gold will be available next month from 14th September.
