The Secret History Of Twin Peaks

The trailer for Mark Frost’s book, The Secret History of Twin Peaks, has been released, and it’s as enigmatic and mysterious as cult series itself.

That gum you like is going to come back in style. After 25 long years David Lynch and Mark Frost are giving us that damn fine cup of coffee – a surreal Twin Peaks reboot and a dreamlike book all about the secrets of the Twin Peaks town. To get us in the mood, a 2-minute teaser trailer for Mark Frost’s The Secret History of Twin Peaks book has been released, giving us a little hint of just what’s been going on in Twin Peaks since we left them 25 years ago. In true Twin Peaks-style, this trailer is just a perplexing as it is revealing.

Scanning over items like a cup of steaming hot coffee, a slice of cherry pie (we hope the Double R Diner is still open), a Hollywood postcard from Norma and Hank, a log and an FBI active crime scene investigation report, the trailer gives no concrete evidence of what secrets the town has kept over the past 25 years, only that Laura Palmer’s crime scene may still be open, Norma and Hank have been travelling and the Log Lady’s legacy lives on.

The 368-page book, detailing the “vastly layered, wide-ranging history that deepens the mysteries of the iconic town in ways that will thrill disciples of the original series,” will get us back into the groove of the town; it’ll be like we never left. Due for release this October, The Secret History of Twin Peaks will fulfil all our Twin Peaks desires and unravel the intricate web that David Lynch and Mark Frost have spun.
