Changes at Pal Zileri

It’s an exciting new era for tailoring kings Pal Zileri.

The Mayhoola Group – the Qatari investors who already own Valentino and a healthy stake in Anya Hindmarch, and last month added Balmain to their chic portfolio – have announced today that they’ve taken full ownership of Italian brand Pal Zileri, whose sartorially inclined tailored offerings have long been a favourite for those who value timeless quality. If you haven’t had much exposure to Pal Zileri’s elegant design thus far though, then that might all be about to change, because with their newly accquired majority in the brand, The Mayhoola Group are committing themselves wholeheartedly to revamping the storied label.

Although current CEOs Paolo Roviera and Stefano Gaudioso Tramonte will be moving on to pastures new, Mauro Ravizza Krieger, the Creative Director who was appointed in 2014 and made his debut with the brand’s AW16 collection, will be continuing to develop his progressive take on Pal Zileri’s distinctive classicism: something they’ve pithily dubbed avant craft. Ravizza Krieger’s certainly got the right pedigree for his new position, having previously consulted for other Italian favourites like Loro Piana and master-tailors Caruso.

What’s more, the recently released AW16 campaign images are definitely setting the right tone for the company’s future. Featuring world-renowned ballet maestro, and full time Wonder-crush, Sergei Polunin, and shot by photographer Maciek Kobielski, the seductively rendered shoot is bound to be everywhere now that Pal Zileri are hitting their well-pressed stride. So, check out the behind-the-scenes pics below and get ready for a beautifully cut season when the cool weather comes around.
