7 Wonders: Happy Birthday Gisele

As supermodel Gisele Bundchen turns 36, we celebrate by taking a look at some of her finest moments through the years.

Our favourite Victoria’s Secret model, Brazilian beauty queen and highest paid model in the world, Gisele Bundchen turned 36 yesterday. With more campaigns, catwalk appearances and candid shots than you’ve got little black dresses, the bona fide supermodel “left” the industry last year but we’ve heard whispers she’s going to play a big role in Rio’s Olympic opening ceremony. We can’t wait to see what she gets up to, but until then, we’ll be celebrating her best moments as one of the biggest supermodels in the world and wondering just how long those legs are.

Alexander McQueen 1998

It’s 1998, Gisele is still a relatively new face considering her first show was aged 14 in 1996 and she’s walking for one of the world’s most exciting young designers, Lee McQueen. in SS98’s Untitled show, she donned a black wig and proved her trademark golden locks were always just the icing on the cake.

Michael Kors 1999

Long before Michael Kors was every teenage girl’s go-to handbag brand, they gave us looks like this. Let’s be real, it’s the stuff of throwback dreams, but who else could pull off something so outrageous and still look so sexy? Maybe we should get our navels pierced and at least a zebra bikini now that summer’s on the way?

The Face April 2000

Baring (almost) all in a transparent plastic raincoat and tape, Gisele gave us all serious body envy back in 2000. Yes we’re all beautiful in our own special ways but imagine being that healthy, toned and curvy in all the right places, we started a gym membership we’ve long since given up on when this cover was revealed to the world.

Dolce & Gabbana 2003

There’s nothing like having the word SEX written on your neck to further propel yourself as a sex symbol. Walking in Dolce & Gabbana’s 2003 show in a seductive lace up dress, Gisele glowed with appeal on the catwalk. Can you believe this was over 10 years ago? We want to wear this look this weekend.

Victoria’s Secret 2005

Exactly how we dress for Christmas day. Totally dressed down, day-to-day look, right? We never saw this version of Mr. Claus on Christmas Cards. In our humble opinion, Gisele always stole the show when it came to VS. Or in every show, from high fashion to sparkly lingerie, she couldn’t really go wrong.

Arena Magazine 2008

This cover leaves us questioning why no-one ever cast Gisele as a bond girl, she’s got the sexy accent, smouldering stare and even her own gold bikini.

Versace 2008

Pure glamour in gold and Versace, we don’t know where to look first, the burning orange clothes, the endless legs or Gisele’s commanding pout. Is there anywhere in central London we can get a full tangerine look, right now?
