Topman play on the kitsch mix of grandeur and grotty-ness found exclusively on Britain’s shores for SS17 with pastels, glitzy embellishments and tongue in cheek slogans like “life’s a beach then you die” or does anyone fancy a “Dirty Weekend” in Margate? Dress code: tattoo-patch embroidery, Mr Whippy silk shirts, sunburn and anything you could imagine wearing to “Club Tropicana”.

Teddy Boy Trims

Another Brit signature, Topman looked to Teddy Boys and Mods for SS17 inspo. What resulted was smoking jackets in soft stoney tones, wide collars stretching out across the shoulders and tight tailoring in gentlemen’s grey check. Trash was turned into treasure, playing on velour trackies, Topman recreated the cosy squish of sweatpants into towelling all-in-ones and mustard coloured two pieces.

Take A Dip

Not feeling ready for full seaside looks? Add in boat shoes for a touch of quaint, or look to Husam El-odeh’s accessories, key fobs with seaside charms, coral or oversized belt buckles adorned with lions and guitars. Trips to the beach make Topman’s all-consuming hooded towelling kaftan a must. Somewhere between a boxer’s robe and a hippy poncho, Topman keep it cool in almost-black with grey lion details.
