Disaronno × Studio Job

Disaronno have got together with one of the world’s preeminent design studios for a winning beverage.

Is there anything more Italian than an almond-infused glass of Disaronno on ice? Well, probably, yes. Still, when everyone’s favourite liqueur turns up at the world-renowned Milan Design Week with a new collaboration under their belts, it’s something worth hearing about (and, of course, tasting).  Teaming up with prestigious international design outfit Studio Job, Disaronno have come correct with a limited batch of 5000 super-collectible jars from which to sip the brand’s signature cocktail: the Disaronno Sour.

In fact, the design itself takes its cues from those uniquely paradoxical flavours, sweet Disaronno and sour lemon juice, that are at the heart of the cocktail, with Studio Job’s Job Smeets and Nynke Tynagel featuring a range of contrasting symbols in their illustrations on the jar. That means an iconography of opposites – from the rose and the gun, to the heart and the skull – is painstakingly rendered on the glassware, which was officially unveiled at MDW last month before Disaronno took part in the inaugural Design Pride parade.

Understandably, Paolo Dalla Mora, Global Communication Director of Disaronno, was thrilled about the collaboration, remaking, “Working with Studio Job was exciting: our Disaronno Sour cocktail will be served in a real gem of design, a combination of tradition and innovation, which is consistent with our philosophy. A gift for us that we hope will in turn become a gift to the people of Design Week.” We’ve got ours – where’s yours? Now that the jar’s available in the UK, you’ve got no excuse.
