London-based electro-soul duo HONNE have been carving a distinct niche for themselves over the past couple of years with a futuristic and seductive blend of hazily addictive pop. With their EPs ‘Gone Are The Days’ and ‘Over Lover’ they’ve polished and developed that sound and, come July, we’ll be able to hear their debut studio album, Warm On A Cold Night. If you can’t wait until then to get your HONNE fix, then head to Gloucestershire’s premiere rural hoedown, Barn on the Farm Festival, where the boys will be doing their thing alongside other unmissable acts such as Jack Garratt, Farm Band, RY X, and Eliza and The Bear.
Sounds good, right? Well, to get you in the mood HONNE have kindly put together a playlist of profoundly relaxed summer jams for us. Lock in and drift off.
Everybody Loves The Sunshine – Roy Ayers
Roy was right. Everybody does love the sunshine.
Angels – Chance The Rapper
This is actually our favourite song right now. There’s something about it that makes you feel great. They must have been smiling whilst recording. You’ll see what I mean.
30 Hours – Kanye West
We’d drive 30 hours listening to this song.
Sweet Life – Frank Ocean
This song is why it’s so painful having to wait such a long time for Frank Ocean to drop a new album. It makes us want to live on the West Coast.
L$D – A$AP Rocky
This track will make you feel so laid-back, you’ll be almost horizontal. Reverby guitars, deep bass and lazy drums.
Millionaire – Kelis ft. Andre 3000
Put this song on, close your eyes, imagine the warm sun on your face and let your worries float away.
Daydreamin’ – Lupe Fiasco ft Jill Scott
We often daydream about being somewhere exotic and listening to this makes it feel like we are actually there.
Sunshine – Tom Misch
We saw Tom play this in a club in Berlin a while back and everyone went nuts, so it kind of takes us back to that moment. He’s a really talented artist and a nice guy too.
