Sam Wills has spent the last 18 months honing his sound working with some of the industry’s best; Jordan Rakei, Grades and Tom Misch to name just a few. Drawing inspiration from far and wide (Michael Jackson to John Legend to Disclosure) it’s hard not to fall for Wills’ soulful crooning.
In amongst his onslaught of Instagram teaser videos and alongside his recent collaborations with Pablo Nouvelle and Tom Misch, we have been waiting with bated breath to see what’s next for our fave one-to-watch. We are thrilled to announce that our craving has been satisfied, as the 23-year-old Hastings native shares the fruits of his labour with us, as he releases the third offering from his debut EP, “Light On Me”.
A seamless extension of its predecessor, the similarly Karma Kid-produced “Light On Me” showcases Wills’ distinctive neo-soul vocals and makes for some seriously addictive summer listening. With his beats garnering praise from Zane Lowe and Annie Mac, we’re predicting big things for this electronic-soul-influenced babe; his music is totally blissful, think Justin Timberlake with a modern electronic twist. Needless to say, we’re hooked.
Catch Sam at Servant Jazz Quarters on 6th June, tickets available here.
