The London Marriott Hotel, Park Lane

We find a whole lot of luxury at the newly renovated The London Marriott Hotel, Park Lane.

‘The hotel of choice in Mayfair’ is a lofty title to aspire to, but it’s what the London Marriott Hotel, Park Lane aimed for when beginning extensive renovations last summer – and we’re more than a little tempted to say they’ve succeeded. Take a Grade II listed property with Hyde Park and Marble Arch views, add an exhaustive transformation by RPW Design, and you’re left with an opulent hotel to rival any other.

The rejuvenatedLondon Marriott Hotel, Park Lane boasts 152 renovated bedrooms plus five new suites; each room now includes an entrance lobby and an elegantly soothing colour scheme of white, dove grey and lavender. You’ll find no rickety old dressing tables that collapse under your travel hairdryer here; instead, the rooms are kitted out in leather, silk, solid wood and bookmatched marble. The result? Sophisticated luxury, down to the smallest detail.

Speaking of details, it’s the little touches that really set theLondon Marriott Hotel, Park Lane apart. There’s a carefully curated selection of British artwork throughout the historic building, Royal perfumers Floris provide the bathroom amenities, and there’s even a bespoke shoeshine service courtesy of The Jaunty Flâneur. On the technology front, the revamped hotel provides Bluetooth LCD screen TVs, Apple products throughout and a convenient mobile check-in service; meanwhile, guests feeling the exercise itch are catered to with a state-of-the-art gym and pool.

You needn’t travel far in search of an indulgent meal to match your stay: hotel restaurant and bar Lanes of London, situated on the illustrious Park Lane, has you covered. Offering seasonal delights from breakfast through to dinner, the restaurant menu is matched by executive chef Emmanuel Garde to the finest produce of the season, resulting in a dining experience that encapsulates the best of British.

We recommend starting your day off right with Lanes of London’s brioche French toast – slathered in cinnamon sugar, maple syrup and berries – before popping back at lunch or dinner for the heavenly beef carpaccio. Don’t skimp on a cocktail from the team behind acclaimed popup Roofnic (their signature, the Sosho Cooler, is not to be missed). Fancy a perfectly refined afternoon? Stop by for afternoon tea, set off with a Laurient Perrier Rosé.

TheLondon Marriott Hotel, Park Lane emerges from renovation as a hotel to be reckoned with, with all-new luxury rooms, every imaginable amenity and a restaurant to cater to every craving. The hotel of choice in Mayfair? We’re pretty certain we’ve found it.
