Premiere: Mind Enterprises – "Give Me Light (NZCA Lines Remix)"

We bring you NZCA Line’s fresh off the press remix of “Give Me Light”.

As big fans of future-disco master Mind Enterprises, we’ve been following his progression pretty closely. Andrea Tirone, a Turin native, moved to London back in 2012 after he became tired of what he saw as the insularity of Italy’s alternative scene. Having set up a home studio in Clapton, it soon became apparent that London’s scene was rather more conducive to getting Tirone creative: fast forward a few years, and one standout EP, and we’ve arrived at Idealist, Mind Enterprises debut album. A winning mix of Afro-Funk, intelligent vocals and electronic polish, the LP has spawned some great tracks, including numbers like “Idealistic” and “Give Me Light”.

NZCA Lines chose well then, when they decided to remix “Give Me Light” and inject what was already an addictive little track with some extra disco energy – oh, and we happen to be premiering it exclusively here on Wonderland . Commenting on the remix, Michael Lovett of NZCA Lines remarked, “For this remix of ‘Give Me Light’, I basically just sat down and had some fun messing around under MI’s great vocal melody with the piano in our house, which belongs to Pete from Teleman. It’s the first time I’ve played real piano in ages, and I was recording straight into an old Fostex 8-track I recently bought for peanuts, so the whole thing was a bit of an experiment.” Sounds like a good experiment to us – and Tirone himself, who said, “when I first listened to NZCA Lines’ remix of ‘Give Me Light’ I was with a few friends in my living room. Nobody was paying attention when I pressed play, but suddenly they all turned at me, “that’s great! did you do it?” I wished I could have said yes.” High praise indeed.

Mind Enterprises will play at Field Day on 12th June
