Wonderland.

Andaz London Liverpool Street

Step into the curated paradise of Andaz London.

The Andaz London is a different kind of hotel. Unlike the crusty behemoths of the West End, this Liverpool Street based hotel, nestled in the creative hub of East London, aims for fresh design and modern ideas. At just a short walk from the Barbican, it goes without saying that the location of Andaz London is second to none, but there’s far more to this place than simple geography. Boasting crisp decor throughout – think Eames furniture, 1920s liner luxury, and dashes of contemporary class – the hotel seamlessly combines the heritage of the Great Eastern Hotel, which occupied the building in the nineteenth century, with a contemporary design sensibility.

Comfort is paramount at the Andaz London, whether evidenced by the LCD screen and iPod docking station in every room or by the luxurious in-house health club and spa. What’s more, guests need not trouble Trip Advisor for nearby bars and eateries – not when the hotel itself offers seven. For example, there’s 1901, set in a Grade Two-listed former ballroom complete with stained glass dome, which foregrounds home grown and seasonal produce in its innovative fine dining menu. Miyako provides an authentic Japanese dining experience, with a traditional menu of sushi, sashimi, teriyaki, sake and Japanese beers. Try New York brasserie-inspired Eastway for brunch, or swing by classic British pub George for roasts and pub staples. In short? You certainly won’t be going hungry.

The Andaz isn’t satisfied with just keeping you fed, watered, exercised and exorbitantly comfortable, however. This year, the hotel launches two exclusively curated guest experiences in partnership with SideStory Travel, focused on the city’s artistic character. Both experiences take guests out and about on the streets of East London: the Photography experience enlists award-winning photojournalist Antonio to teach guests to shoot on the fly, whilst the Street Art experience sees expert and artist Karim unpack the layers of the street art movement. Cliched tourist traps be gone – try a SideStory guest experience, and experience first hand the vibrant culture of the city.

A stay at the Andaz London doesn’t stop at pre-eminent design, or at absolute comfort, or at exemplary dining. Through their partnership with SideStory, the hotel takes the guest experience to a newly immersive level. Ultimately, at the Andaz, you’re not just a guest in London – you’re part of it.
