CHANEL EYEWEAR SPRING-SUMMER 2016

Chanel launch a gloriously retro capsule collection for the summer.

Folks, it truly is the season: for lusting over new season sunglasses, for walking out of the store only to find the Great British sky is resolutely grey as ever, and for wearing the sunglasses from dawn to dusk anyway because they just look so bloody good. (Or for wearing in, you know, the actual sun, if you’re in slightly more hospitable climes). The latest drop? Chanel Eyewear’s Spring-Summer 2016 capsule collection,

The collection is inspired by the 60s, an era reflected in the floral patterns and retro oval and butterfly shapes of the frames. For those craving summery palettes, there are styles in bright pink and soft blue; the more sartorially reserved might plump for warm amber or monochrome. Each pair sports matching gradated lenses, whilst two options come with polarised lenses for extra protection. Want some styling tips from Chanel (when is the answer ever no)? “They perfectly suit jeans and diaphanous outfits from a summery wardrobe,” the legendary house says.

They add, “This capsule collection is like an announcement of a resplendent summer fantasy bursting with youthful brilliance”, and if that doesn’t make you want to snap them up immediately sprint to the nearest park, then frankly we don’t know what will. The collection will be available in boutiques from May – on your marks, get set…
