Playlist: HÆLOS' Eclipse

London trio HÆLOS walk us through a musical eclipse.

London threesome HÆLOS are zipping along on the glory of their debut album. After 11 shows at SXSW (we’re worn out at the thought), the trio are preparing to storm the UK throughout April and May. With Full Circle zipping straight to number 1 on iTunes’ Electronic chart, expect packed out rooms of revellers ready to soak up the ambient #vibes. But, before their Great British takeover, they’re jetting off to the US once more for two shows at Coachella, debauched musical playground of the rich, famous and floral-headband wearing. We might not be able to go sun ourselves and see them in Cali, but we’ll be at Bussey Building on home soil in Peckham. Slightly less glam.

In the meantime, we’re keeping our ears busy with their “Eclipse” playlist. The title nods to their celestial album artwork and the theme rolls straight through from Moby to Carribou. Plug in and float away.

Moby – “Flower”

A classic tune off a classic record.

Tor – “Aperture”

Really into this Canadian producer, his record Drum Therapy is a hidden gem that we’ve been rinsing on the tour bus.

HÆLOS – “Oracle”

This is one is off our debut album Full Circle.

Massive Attack ft. Azekel – “Ritual Spirit”

This EP is predictably incredible. In a league of their own.

Múm – “Now There’s That Fear Again”

Got into this Icelandic group quite a while ago, beautiful etherial vocals over a lush soundscapes and a glitchy IDM beat.

DJ Krush – “Corsucation”

Got into legendary Japanese producer DJ Krush through his career spanning affiliation with James Lavelle’s Mo Wax label. We recoomend exploring his back catalogue as well as for the most part it is excellent.

Kishi Bashi – “In Fantasia”

We first heard this Kishi Bishi tune in our hotel bar in Berlin and we’ve had it on the spin since.

Bonobo – “Cirrus”

We’ve got a lot of respect for Bonobo, been a fan since Animal Magic.

Caribou – “Sun”

It’s not an eclipse without “Sun” coming out.. taken from one of our favourite records of the last 10 years Swim, this is Dan Snaith at his best.
