NEWGEN MEN Recipients Announced

The next crop of menswear’s brightest stars have been revealed.

The British Fashion Council announced today the 10 emerging designers who will receive NEWGEN support for the SS17 season. Sponsored by Topman and established in 2009, the NEWGEN project has helped big names including J.W. Anderson, Christopher Shannon, Lou Dalton, and Christopher Raeburn through it’s programme, which not only provides financial support but also business mentoring as well as assistance with implementing shows and presentations during LCM.

This season, Alex Mullins, Bobby Abley, Cottweiler, Craig Green, Diego Vanassibara, Liam Hodge and PIETER will continue to receive support. Newly welcomed to the programme, meanwhile, are recent CSM graduate Kiko Kostadinov, Phoebe English (whose menswear brand is now in its thirs season), and MAN alumni/super-hyped newbie Wales Bonner. Jason Griffiths, judging panel member and Marketing Director of TOPMAN commented: “It is fantastic to be welcoming new designers to the NEWGEN MEN fold for June, Grace Wales Bonner, Kiko Kostadinov and Phoebe English –  I’m sure all eyes will be on these bright new stars as they unveil their inaugural  NEWGEN MEN collections… We also look forward to watching this year’s alumni Agi & Sam, Astrid Andersen and Nasir Mazhar continue their journey as established brands; heralding all that is creative and exciting about emerging talent in London.” We have to agree – bring on SS17!
