Maison Pierre Marcolini × Peter Pilotto

Fashion meets chocolate.

The worlds of high fashion and confectionary may seem incompatible at first: after all, when was the last time you saw your favourite reality star-cum-model getting down and dirty with a multipack of chewy Mars or a fistful of seriously nutty Picnic bars?

However, when we’re talking about a collaboration between haute chocolatiers Maison Pierre Marcolini and globally renowned womenswear label Peter Pilotto, a fashion-chocolate fusion makes a lot more sense. Presented in a multi-story, Rubik’s Cube-style dice, the two brands have created a marriage of chocolate and design that must be seen to be believed: Game of Taste.

No, it’s not a Game of Thrones alternative where chocolate connoisseurs and fashion critics compete for their lives, but rather a wonderful box of treats like no other. Filled with heart-shaped delights of pistachio praline, salted caramel and raspberry, as well as perilously decadent Maison Pierre Marcolini Grand Cru classics, the Game of Taste is pure multi-sensory bliss, a feast for both eyes and tastebuds. Once the chocolates are hungrily (but sensitively) consumed, instead of being left with a mournfully empty plastic tray, you get a vividly patterned box that recalls some of Peter Pilotto’s most bold, distinctive designs. Part board-game, part puzzle, the box boasts finely printed squares overlapping like swathes of fabric and is a true joy to unwrap, unlock and store somewhere special. Beat that, Caramac.

The collection is now available from Selfridges and then from Maison Pierre Marcolini directly and Harrods on the 8th April.
