We’ve got the UK premiere of a rousing new cut from LA rockers EFG.

EFG (letters which doesn’t seem to stand for much, by the way) are the band from LA who are bucking the current trend for dreamy synthpop with their jagged, Rock and Roll vibes and psychedelic inflections. Featuring Josh Garza, Tom Biller, and Imaad Wasif, all three of whom have a whole clutch of band experience between them – previous groups for Immad Wasif include such delightfully oblique names as lowercase, alsaka! and The Folk Implosion – EFG have already made waves with their previous concept-heavy EPs and are in the process of prepping their debut album for a release later this year.

Well, if the white-knuckled “Outlier” (making its UK premiere exclusively on Wonderland) is anything to go by, the LP will definitely be one to remember: the track is a no-holds-barred guitar number with heavy vintage influences worn on its sleeve but also a freshness that means these guys are anything but throwback. Plug in and enjoy.
