Premiere: Eau Rouge – "Hunting Melodies"

We premiere a track to escape with from German three piece Eau Rouge.

Eau Rouge are the threesome coming out of Stuttgart that are somewhere between Trip Hop, Indie and Shoegaze. If that sounds like a winning combination, it’s because it is. Ever since their debut EP in 2014, the boys (Jonas Teryuco and Bo Zillmann on vocals, bass, keys and guitar, and Magnus Frey taking care of drums and percussion) have been making a reputation for themselves as adept blenders of their disparate influences – which include Muse, Placebo and M83. In particular, their standout release “Golden Nights” made big waves last year and was used by Red Bull as well as several television shows.

Now, Eau Rouge are set to capitalise on that momentum with their debut album, Nocturnal Rapture, ready for a summer release and a new single “Hunting Melodies” premiering today on Wonderland. The song, a reverb-heavy, synth-drenched number, is a characteristic mix of Indie and Electronica which strays on just the right side of eerie. For the band, the song is “a soundtrack for the first hours after sunset, when you still see that magical glow on the western horizon that leads you into the night. Take a drive, roll down the window, feel the warm breeze in your hair and then get into the mix!” Just what you need to get you through the week – even if you’re just chained to the desk.
