FALLULAH × WONDERLAND PLAYLIST

Danish megastar Fallulah has curated a Nordic-alt-pop playlist just for us.

You might not have heard of Fallulah, but in her native Denmark she’s kind of a big deal. With her first two albums, The Black Cat Neighborhood and platinum selling Escapism, Fallulah enthralled the Danish music scene thanks to her songwriting talent and sheer vocal power. Now, as her third album is ready to drop, she’s set to storm the UK and Europe: so start listening and get on the wave before everybody else does. Recorded in London with Liam Howe (who’s worked with full time Wonderbabes FKA Twigs and Lana Del Rey), Perfect Tense is a beautifully poised album that’s sure to make big waves when it drops tomorrow.

To celebrate, Fallulah (real name Maria Apetri) has done us the distinct honour of cooking up a Wonderland exclusive playlist. It’s full of powerful, off-beat pop with an experimental edge- would we have expected any less? – and Fallulah has even shared a little something about each song with us. Get listening, and once you’re done, give Perfect Tense‘s title track a spin.

Aurora – “Conqueror”

I recently discovered Aurora, a young Norwegian singer. She reminds me of an ethereal elf living in the woods, there’s something mythical creature about her sound and look. This is a big powerful track and she seems to already have attracted a big audience.

Liss – “Try”

A brand new super young Danish band called Liss. They have a really interesting sound, which reminds me of a mix of Little Dragon and Connan Mockasin. A really great debut track.

Ji Nilsson – “Nothing”

Ji is a friend of mine from Stockholm. She’s a triple threat of a singer, songwriter and producer. She’s really talented and has a great spirit. Nothing is an emotional song about longing which almost has urban Imogen Heap vibes.

Saint Cava – “Forget”

A brilliant little gem of a track by new Danish band Saint Cava. It’s the type of track that creeps under your skin and lingers. I found myself singing it all the time when I first discovered it. Very excited to follow this band.

Fallulah’s new album ‘Perfect Tense’ is released this Friday 26th February via Instant Records.
