For AW16 Topshop Unique presented a collection as delicious and varied as your fave bag of Pick ‘n’ Mix. Well known for their spirit of celebrating individuality, there was quite literally something for everyone this season, with a collection that achieved admirable cohesion considering its sheer ability to mix and match different pieces to create a totally original new whole. That’s what we all love Topshop for, right? With everything from tailored blazers to shearling coats and gem-embroidered lace to slinky, velvet evening dresses, this was a collection simply made for a Clueless style wardrobe organiser, the outfit combinations were endless.

Baby, I’m so free

This was a collection free of rules. With – refreshingly – no didactic concept, we sat back and enjoyed an army of looks fit for all occasions. Tired of being told what to do by the industry? Topshop Unique was on point in telling you to do (and wear) exactly what you want — and, we wanted everything. Leather mini skirts, giant hoop earrings, dashes of leopard print, military style over-sized coats, shearling collars, bomber jackets… Topshop Unique offered up the definitive wardrobe for AW16.

Hello high-low

In classic Topshop Unique style, AW16 was a masterclass in pulling together looks from pieces you’d never usually mix. Think casual v-neck tees with slick, seductive leather skirts and feminine lace crop tops paired with boxy, masculine tailored jackets. We’re christening the look ‘high-low’, where luxe meets sports, where night meets day, where high end meets high street. Its in these contrasts that Topshop Unique finds its, well, unique energy.
