Private Life are an indie twosome from Melbourne with a soaring pop sound who first caught press attention with their self-titled debut EP back in 2013. Made up of bassist Jamie Barlow and vocalist Renee Anderson (who’s also been providing her not inconsiderable talent to the NYC based collective Phantom Posse that features ILoveMakonnen in DIY mode), the two are unashamedly proud of their fondness for pop-hooks that linger in the mind, and have been staples of the Melbourne circuit for a few years now. Suffice to say, comparisons to Blondie have been made more than once – and that’s never a bad thing.
We’re pretty pleased to unveil their latest single ‘Dragon’, premiering right here at Wonderland. It’s a slice of electropop goodness produced by Nicolas Lam (of the Redbull Music Academy) that’s full of rich sounding bass, laid over with Anderson’s soaring vocals. Triumphant and fragile, it’s one you’ll be sticking in repeat for a while.
