PFW: OAMC AW16

OAMC flew through double meanings and twisted traditions for AW16.

No Messin’

OAMC was all out, straight up about the basics. Not basics, but wearability. Nothing outlandish, nothing wild, just subtle style and excellent taste. But of course, that wasn’t the be all and end all, the story of the collection was in the details. Label lovers can wear AW16 and look effortlessly in the know, the romantics amongst us will wear OAMC for the subtle and evocative message beneath, which leads us to…

Flying High

An entirely fitting metaphor for a growing brand, OAMC looked to flight for inspiration this season. From the military notes, in khaki, camo, dog-tags and bomber jackets, to more natural tokens, like feather emblems, the brand had unrestricted movement on the brain. Where military styles often translate as fighting talk and power, OAMC finessed their theme with a softer tone. Loose and soft trousers looked like thermals worn as outerwear and sweaters were tucked in to reveal waists rather than square-shaped GI Joe silhouettes.
