LCM: Astrid Andersen AW16

Sportswear met the streets at Astrid Andersen’s shining AW16 offering.

Material Girl

Never one to shy away from trying something new, Astrid Andersen took on lace, tweed and fur this season with the masterful guidance of 100 year old Linton Tweeds and continued her work Sophie Hallette lace. The lace was paper thin sheer and gold, (what else would be good enough?) and fur came in sharp black shocks around hoods. Fuzzy tweed material was ice blue and thick and coarse. A collection to be touched.

Say my name

With a label as current as Andersen’s, not having branded clothing would be missing a very obvious, very profitable trick. Branding was done carefully on pieces worth buying whether the bore the name of the designer or not. The quilted khaki pullover and mint-sleeved sweater are both sure to be sellout garments simply for their crossover between streetwear and sportswear.

High Shine

It’s no secret we LOVE a metallic. Andersen had already won us over with sprinklings of sparkly lace, then she pulled out the big guns. A gargantuan dirty gold puffa jacket with matching bin-baggy oil slick trousers. What more could a boy wish for?
