GROSVENOR HOUSE APARTMENTS BY JUMEIRAH LIVING

We had a ridiculously comfortable stay in London’s finest Residential Hotel.

If you like staying in hotels but somehow wish they felt a bit more, well, homely, then the Grovesnor House Apartments might be for you. That is, if your idea of home involves polished, designer interiors and gym facilities – sadly, my place is still missing the cross-trainer. The only ‘Hotel  Residence’ of it’s kind in London, The Apartments are situated on Park Lane, right in the heart of Mayfair, and boast enviable Hyde Park views. So far, so luxe. But things only get better when you experience the sheer quality of the service on offer.

The building’s ‘At Home with Jumeirah Living’ programme is a unique (and extremely opulent) kind of butler service. You could probably get them to arrange almost anything – within reason. I’m talking everything from getting together a 12 person dinner party (if you’re one of those people who says hosting is too stressful, give this a go) to stocking your temporary apartment with the finest groceries, these guys really can do it all. Then there are the dining options. Not just a room service that can provide gourmet spins on comfort food (fish and chips followed by a pile of brownies were my choice), but also a restaurant called The Atrium that has a seven-storey high glass ceiling – highlights there include a lovely biryani and a fabulous baked lobster.

If that wasn’t enough – really? – then the Grosvenor House Apartments’ Penthouse and London Suites take things to the next level (no pun intended). The largest Penthouse suite boasts a whopping 448 square metres which is room enough for 10 adults and 5 children and is big enough to accommodate a baby grand piano. In fact, there is actually a baby grand provided, so if you fancy showing off your well-rehearsed rendition of “Chopsticks” to your dinner party guests then you can. What more could you want?
