Here at Wonderland we’ve harboured a lot of love for Girli for a long time. Since we first heard this track we’ve lived in a pink filtered world. The teenager’s frenzied sound will have you twitching like you’ve stuffed your mouth full of Smarties (only the pink ones obv) and now the video to “So You Think You Can Fuck With Me Do Ya” has arrived to make you want to join her gang. Running around London in Baby Spice worthy flatform trainers, Girli takes us on a tour of her adolescent world. Powerslides and bottles of wine on the bus, co-ordinated dance routines on rooftops and arcade cruising, all the time in a full pink tracksuit, Girli’s the punk princess of the city. We’re suddenly nostalgic for blue WKDs and getting thrown out of queues for clubs before you’ve even made it inside.

Girli might be magenta from quite literally head to toe and look like she’s kitted out in eBay finds and most of H&M’s kids’ section specials but it’s not just a novelty factor that’s won us over. She’s gobby as fuck and clever with it too. Domination is on the agenda and it’s coming, first in the form of double A side “So You Think You Can Fuck With Me Do Ya/ASBOys”, next her radio show, then the world. We can’t wait.
