When did you start modeling?

I’ve been doing actual modeling since June. For ages, I was going to join an agency but I was at uni so I thought do I bother joining yet?! Select came up to me and I thought why not. I was probably going to regret it so I thought why not!

What do you study at uni?

I’m studying business economics and law at Sussex.

What kind of work have you been doing since you got scouted?

I’ve got plans to go to Milan in Janurary so I’m looking forward to that as it will be the first time. I joined the day before men’s fashion week, so obviously I wasn’t going to go out to Milan because I was working here but I still want to do a couple of shows there!

Who would be your ideal designer to walk for?

My ideal brand would be Supreme, but if I was actually to walk for someone it would probably be Tom Ford or Vivienne Westwood.

Do you prefer shoots or shows?

I’ve only done two shows so far, so I wouldn’t like to say… I think I’d need to have more shows behind me. But shoots I’d say, because when I think of shows I think of fashion week, I think of standing in the queue casting, I think of delays on public transport, I reckon I’ll change my mind once I go abroad and do shows but right now – shoots definitely.

Where are you from?

I’m Australian and Guyanese, but I lived in the UK from a young age so I don’t sound it. When I’m drunk I sound it – I sound really Australian. I want to go back there so hopefully if I join an agency over there it will give me an excuse to go back as well!

What do you love most about London?

I love the nightlife, and the fashion aspect of it. I think London is a really underrated city, it’s really unique and there’s no where else like it in the world. Everyone gets to express themselves in different ways. There are so many different parts of London as well. When I went America I thought it would be this amazing place, but in New York and in LA everyone seems to dress the same… Where as no two parts of London are ever the same.

What’s the best thing about being a model?

Except traveling, because I’ve only done a bit of it so far, I’d say just meeting new people. Doing new things, even if it’s out of your comfort zone they’ve never pushed me to do something that I’m not going to do. The best thing I’ve done personally was when I shot with Frank Ocean. He shot it the whole night for two days on his own, so, I was literally like chilling next to Frank the whole day.

That’s the dream!

There was a bit where we had to come out of bushes with smoke flairs and then jump on to trampolines. It was just mad! It was insane. Firstly I was like I hope I don’t fan girl but he was so cool, and you realise he’s such a normal person and you have to work with him. You have to remain professional but he was just so laid back, it was great.

How do you friends react to you being a model?

At first, I think they just thought I was just being big headed and thought I wasn’t a model. They’d say why are you putting so many photos of yourself up on Instagram! Now they’re a bit more excited for me because at first they were a bit confused because my Instragram was just heavily fashion related. Now they’ve grasped the concept that I do it for work they’re all happy for me and they get it a bit more.

What do you do with your time off?

Right now I personal train so I do that a lot. A lot of my time is in the gym or studying.

Where do you see yourself in ten years time?

I’d still say traveling the world because at heart I’m still a kid so I just want to explore the world! But generally I think wherever I’m mean to be in ten years time I’ll be there.
