As tough as fashion is for young designers, the opportunities for talents is endless with countless courses and initiatives available in Britain. Every year, recipients of NEWGEN, MAN and Fashion East sponsorship are closely followed by the press and public alike. Today, another door opened, courtesy of Boden and the British Fashion Council.

Future British will champion the best of our homegrown young designers, supporting a projected 15 creatives over the next five years with financial support along with the priceless mentoring a global brand can offer. As part of the scheme, three designers a year will be given the opportunity to work alongside Boden’s leadership team to learn about product development, brand identity and the all important PR and marketing. The BFC will be on hand to assist with all the (boring but necessary) small print stuff, banking, accounting and legal.

Treated to undertaking the initiative first are 26 year old RCA graduate, knitwear designer Caitlin Charles-Jones, 28 year old kilt maker Samantha McCoach and 26 year old Parsons and LCF graduate, footwear designer Camilla Elphick.
