Wonderlist

This week’s #Wonderlist has new music from pop cherub Selena Gomez, Hinds and Lethal Bizzle. Something for everyone.

Selena Gomez – Same Old Love

Selena Gomez singing a Charli XCX penned track was never going to be anything but amazing and so it is no surprise that ‘Same Old Love’ is indeed amazing. Gomez is on mighty fine form at the moment and making us all incredibly excited about Revival which comes out on 9 October.Don’t expect a reunion of Selena Gomez & the Scene anytime soon.

Hinds – Garden

Hinds, formally Deers, have been releasing infinitely enjoyable garage rock since 2011. ‘Garden’ is the second track to be released from their forthcoming debut album Leave Me Alone. Rough and ready, in the best possible way, ‘Garden’ is raw and full of energy. The album isn’t due to be released until January 2016 so you have a while to wait.

Lethal Bizzle – Playground (Poté remix)

Lethal Bizzle is one of Britain’s most prolific rappers and is unable to go more than five minutes without dropping an absolute banger. This remix of ‘Playground’ comes courtesy of London based producer Poté who has been attracting support from the likes of Monki and MistaJam and is one of the city’s most promising production talents. Dench indeed.

Greys – I’d Hate To Be Actor

Toronto’s Greys have unveiled the first track off their EP Repulsion which will be released via Carpark and Buzz Records. Speaking to The FADER Shehzaad Jiwani, the band’s singer, said the track was about “that strange juxtaposition of being a little spoon with your partner, completely at peace physically while the noise in your head is overwhelming.” The EP will be released in late October.

Disclosure – Hourglass ft. Lion Babe

Reigate’s finest has teamed up with one of New York’s most exciting acts for ‘Hourglass’. The track is lifted from Disclosure’s set to be massive sophomore album Caracal. ‘Hourglass’ is the first “feature” record Lion Babe has worked on having released a string of super slick soul singles and previously worked with Pharrell Williams.

RITUAL – Instinct

RITUAL, the London trio, has just dropped ‘Instinct’, the third single from their EP From The City To The Wilderness. Speaking about the track the band said: “‘Instinct’ is the warmest record we’ve written – it has a nostalgic nod to Soul and UK Garage in the production, and as a song it’s about the most uplifting of natural human instincts – to love and to be loved.” The EP is set to be released on 9 October.

Christine and the Queens – No Harm Is Done ft. Tunji Ige

Héloïse Letissier, aka Christine and the Queens, has called in Pennsylvania rapper Tunji Ige for her latest single ‘No Harm Is Done’. The single has a pulsating rhythm and is a super slick piece of electro pop. Letissier continues to be incapable of producing music that isn’t absolutely perfect.
