The exhibition that lured 490,000 people to the stately surrounds of the V&A has come to an end after an impressive 21-week run, rendering the retrospective the museum’s most successful of all time. With doors open around the clock during the final two weeks of the show – yes, we may have made a 2am visit – there was little excuse not to make it to this unmissable display. If you did, fear not – the V&A is soon to immortalise Savage Beauty through a short film, documenting the showcase from curation to creation, bolstered with behind-the-scene insights into the life and work of an inimitable icon and master of our time, Alexander McQueen.
