MODEL TO WATCH: LOU SCHOOF

We catch up with Lou Schoof from New York Models to talk designer dreams, ironic emoji usage and growing up too fast.

Lou Schoof

Have you always wanted to be a model? If not, what did you want to be growing up?

Actually, people told me to become one before I started but I never thought about it for real until I was scouted. I always wanted to become a lawyer and that’s what I still want to be at some point…but right now, I’m living the moment and love life as a model!

How were you scouted?

I was scouted on a train near Hamburg in Germany. I was travelling with my father, when Yannis Nikolaou from my mother agency Place bumped into us. This moment really changed my life, because this job has given me so much more knowledge, wisdom and different perspectives.

What’s been your biggest OMG moment to date?

I think it was the moment when I graduated from school! It was positive and negative at the same time, a feeling of freedom and a feeling of having to grow up too fast. Everything was different from that moment and realising that was really an OMGOMGOMG moment.

If you had to be head to tow in one designer brand for the rest of your life, which would it be?

Hard to choose – I think it would be Acne.

What about if you could only eat three meals for the rest of your life…?

Apples, sushi and guacamole.

We spotted a cute dog on your Insta, is he/she yours? What’s its name?

Yes, it is! His Name is Elvis and he is a weird mix between chihuahua and pomeranian. I have had him since I was 14 and we have been growing up together. He looks so funny and adorable – he’s the love of my life!

If you were an emoji, which would you be and why?

😉 This one! Never too serious, sometimes ironic.

Where do you see yourself in 10 years time?

I see myself sitting in my house at the beach with some of the amazing friends from all over the world I found on this fantastic journey!
