M.A.C ENLIST GUO PEI FOR THEIR LATEST COLLECTION

M.A.C enlist Rihanna’s fave designer, Guo Pei, for their latest limited edition collection.

You can always count on M.A.C for a knock-out collaboration. We’ve cooed over the gold hardware and pastel tones in their Prabal Gurung collection, gone wild for the electrifying lipstick hues from their Giambattidta Valli collab, scoured eBay for the last remaining pieces of their 2007 Barbie Loves M.A.C series and queued long and hard for a piece of their Hello Kitty Colour Collection.

This season, the makeup connoisseurs have teamed up with Guo Pei. One of the biggest names in China’s fashion scene – if you’re unfamiliar with the name, think again. Remember Rihanna’s impressive Met Gala dress this year? Two years in the making (by hand, may we add), the yellow masterpiece – that prompted many a bad-taste meme – was made by none other than Pei.

Teaming up with the Chinese couturier, M.A.C present a collection of jewel-tones and neutral colour-ways punctuated by deep graphite, inspired by Pei’s “garden of the soul”. The packaging deserves a special mention – with each product encased in exotic floral-illustrated fabric, the M.A.C X Guo Pei collection is one to show off in the powder room.
