PREMIERE: HAYDEN JAMES – “SOMETHING ABOUT YOU”

The Australian house artist releases his new video and there’s something funky about it.

It’s time you meet Hayden James, Australia’s rising star on the club scene. After playing at both Coachella weekends and embarking on a 15 date North American tour, his latest song “Something About You” has racked up an impressive ten million online streams. The tune, inspired by house and disco vibes of the French club scene, is a mixture of springy synth work, a stomping baseline and seductive vocals.

The video is refreshing in its simplicity. The song has enough sass of its own so there’s no need for camera trickery in the video. The video is cool without trying to be – dancers dressed in nude move fluidly in front of a white back drop. What’s more, pink balloons, stretched to the limit by faces and hands, make a mesmerising addition to the party and gold lipstick has never looked so good.

“Something About You” is the second release from his Teen Idols compilation. The funky and infectious baseline, inspired by artists such as James Blake, Jamie XX and Daft Punk, is an example of Hayden on top form.

The single is out 31 July on Future Classic / Virgin EMI. To preorder click here.
