Bristol born, London based newcomer Club Kuru, debuts the video for his new track “Long Drive” exclusively on Wonderland.
Club Kuru, aka Bristol-bred and London-based newcomer Laurie Erskine, has released the video for the third track on his All The Days EP – “Long Drive” and it’s a corker. Despite building a reputation for flirting with deep electronic vibes in his previous work, this track sees Erskine try his hand at unadulterated songwriting. He keeps it in the family – Laurie learned the tricks of the trade on computer software from his elder brother who’s a dubstep producer. The rest, he learned at at Trinity College, where he was classically trained in jazz piano. It was soon after he released All These Days that an internet buzz engulfed him, later accompanied by a Nowness video directed by Danny Sangra.
It’s a summer classic. As the name suggests, the song is a go-to companion this summer for long drives in the country and and a sure contender for the Glastonbury car journey playlist. The tune’s soft guitar hooks, prominent bass lines and ethereal synth notes make for a winning formula.
