After the original track racked up over 100k listens on Soundcloud, we’re giving Luscious Fox’s remix of Wolf Colony’s “Beauty” a spin.

We love a bit of mystery, don’t you? Maybe that’s half the reason we’re so into Wolf Colony, the anonymous NYC producer who’s always masked. He crept into our consciousness after the release of his debut EP Welcome to the Wild Side and his pseudonym started popping up on bills for hallowed venues everywhere in his native city, including the Bowery Ballroom, no less. Since his debut album Unmasked dropped earlier this year, we’ve been obsessed.

Hailing from Atlanta, Luscious Fox, another producer, has reworked Wolf Colony’s hit into four minutes of electronica with a disco hint. Synth melodies and a fidgety digital key backing paired with the half sung, half spoken vocals take this track back to the 80s but you can still imagine it blaring from the radio of a convertible today, as you cross the Brooklyn Bridge while a sunny day turns into a balmy night. That’s what we’re imagining anyway, we might get our own mask too.
