MFW: Just Cavalli AW15

Just Cavalli served up every texture under the sun in their romantic feminine meets technical AW15 collection.

Frills and Functionality

The muted and earthy floral print on Cavalli’s white tiered dresses is cut up unexpectedly by a central zip. The flirty and feminine design moves instantly from a girlish silhouette to a dress fit for a modern woman, with its right-angle layering and strong, oversized collar. Just Cavalli draws the line perfectly with this collection between desirable and wearable. It’s sensible chic, in a way. Dramatic, yes, but there’s nothing too outlandish.

Boho meets Biker

This collection is for both sides of you. Floating floral floor-length dresses are put alongside full black leather looks. It all depends what mood you’re in. The delicate mini-skirts with knees on show underneath are juxtaposed by mustard yellow bold printed suits in heavy fabric and red bombers with black details are put with Bauhaus printed skirts. Let’s talk about that bronze-gold leather studded jacket too, charcoal fluffy trims? Yes please.

Toying with Texture

Harking back to the 70s, trousers were adorned with patches of what looked like long soft shag pile, that’s a good thing by the way. Angora featured throughout as an uber luxurious embellishment and Mongolian fur necklines in rich, deep colours seem almost tangible, even onscreen, it’s easy to image burying your hands in the red and yellow fluff. The crowning glory were the white coats, though, with layer upon layer of fur, shredded wool and shearling.
