NYFW: Coach AW15

For AW15, Coach are taking us on a railway ride from the city to the hazy snow-capped mountains.

Kick it back slope side

Stuart Vever’s collection is made for transporting yourself from the city to that ski trip you booked on your credit card after you realised you might as well treat yourself to a holiday you can’t afford, because you couldn’t afford that Coach shearling coat but you bought that anyway too. Thick soled belted boots, leather jackets covered in badges and accessory heaven along with bare legs gave the Coach line a bit of edge and grit for a younger customer. The shearling coats stole the show, certainly, but there was nothing to be overlooked.

Style-meets-substance

The warm autumnal palette was cut up by greys and lumberjack checkered coats teamed with see-through skirts perfectly united heavy masculine layers, a necessity for winter with a hint of flirty femininity. Bandana prints and chain handle bags made it clear that next season’s Coach girl is an indoors kinda gal, not exactly style over substance but at least style equal to substance. Skulls and slogans cemented Coach as top of plenty of most wanted lists for the winter as an expert balance between practical and playful.

Foot patrol

Following on from last season with cushion-quality practical footwear, we saw hearing lined leather boots in oxblood, grey, ivory and black along with a new edition – metallic tassel pointed toe kitten heels.
