Nike All Conditions Gear is back to serve sportswear for the city with a collection including outerwear, shirts, footwear and portable storage.
Created over thirty years ago as the universal urban sportswear, for any weather or mobility, ACG combines materials like Nike Tech Fleece, Nike Dri-FIT Wool and Nike Flyknit with Berlin-based designer Errolson Hugh’s knowledge. Put simply, the pieces are of the best quality and look just as stylish as you’d expect from Nike.
The collection is designed to prepare you for readiness both mentally and physically. “Readiness is physically encoded into the silhouette of the collection. We call it the all conditions fit because it suggests the ability to transition to any movement and to any situation,” says Hugh. “We needed to ensure that the silhouette serves the needs of the urban athlete and, more importantly, that movement of the body is never restricted,” says Matthew Millward, Nike Sportswear Senior Design Director. “Bulky items are hidden and kept close to the body, securely stowed. The head-to-toe look should always remain clean by keeping design lines continuous and simple.”
Nike see the city as an athlete’s obstacle course, traffic cones are hurdles, the length of the river is your cross country run and it’s fair to say we can count the usual torrential rain in London as a quick dip in the pool. The apparel can be changed to suit different climates with the removable outer shell of the Nike ACG 2 in 1 Men’s Jacket which also features waterproof Gore-Tex® three-layer fabric.
Other pieces in the collection include: ACG Tech Fleece Men’s Pant and Funnel Sweatshirt with Nike Tech Fleece material, ACG Pocket Men’s T-Shirt with Dri-FIT Wool fabric, ACG Flyknit Trainer Chukka SFB with a protective skin on the toe and heel as well as Defender Repellent Systems spray to provide all over water resistance and the even more weather protective SCG LunarTerra Arktos, a trainer/boot hybrid and finally the ACG Responder Backpack with a four-way zip for easy access.
The Nike ACG collection is available beginning Dec. 18 at nike.com/nikelab in North America, Western Europe and Japan. It will also be available at the following retail locations: NikeLab 21 Mercer NYC, NikeLab DSM NYC, Niketown New York, NikeLab 1948 LDN, NikeLab DSM LDN, and NikeLab DSM Ginza in Tokyo.
