DIOR VIII MONTAIGNE

Dior incorporate part of the long history of the fashion-house into their latest timepiece.

The number eight has always been a special one for Dior. It refers to the opening date of the first ever store, in 1946, on 8th October. Also interlinked is the address of Christian Dior, in the VIIIth arrondissement of Paris and his first collection was called ‘En Huit’. Now, the first ceramic timepiece created by Dior follows suit, named VIII Montaigne, the delicate design ties in the romantic nostalgia of 20th century Paris. All that history just sitting on your wrist.

Designed with feminine elegance in mind, the watch comes in a variety of styles with pink and blues hues and steel, gold and leather straps. There’s a variation for everyone but Christian Dior’s loyalty lies with the steel and pink combination. The couturier wrote about grey in his Little Dictionary of Fashion in 1954, stating it to be “the most elegant neutral colour” and called pink “the sweetest of all colours”.
