Saint Laurent have released a series of portraits featuring teen actor Jack Kilmer modelling their Permanent Collection.
You don’t get more badass than being Batman’s son, or do you? Well, Jack Kilmer (son of Val) is not only the son of a superhero but has also starred in ‘Palo Alto’ – Gia Coppola’s adaptation of James Franco’s book of the same name – and has now been featured in a series of shots for Saint Laurent’s permanent collection, all by the tender age of 19. As if there wasn’t enough name-dropping in that last sentence alone, he’s also worked with Juno Temple, Rhys Ifans and Elle Fanning on films set for release next year.
All eyes are on the baby faced, tousle haired Cali-kid as he models pieces from Saint Laurent’s permenant collection. True to the Saint Laurent aesthetic we know and love, we are presented with a series of crisp, simple and engaging black and white shots. The portraits follow the Psych Rock’s New Rising show in June, that Jack walked in, leaving us all dreaming of a rock-star boyfriend with floppy hair and a bad attitude to boot. The show featured lashings of snakeskin, sheepskin, embroidery and tassels with a few hats and ponchos thrown in for good measure. A very good measure indeed as Hedi Slimane’s vision transported us back to 70s California hedonism. It was Psych Rock through and through; and although the attention to detail was impeccable, the collection still seemed effortless and raw.
Shot by Slimane himself, the series sees Jack fronting the SL biker jacket, aviator sunglasses, Western shirt and Le Smoking jacket – a nod to the bohemian romance exhibited at Slimane’s SS15 show.
