Creators of the classic 2750 tennis shoe, Italian brand Superga has long been a champion of minimalist designs and everyday wearability. Since our favourite child-star twins, Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen, became creative directors for Superga in 2011 we’ve been keeping an eye on the brand. In the same year, we saw the Covent Garden store opened followed later by a Camden branch and a flagship on Carnaby Street.
Head to Commercial Road, Spitalfields for seemingly endless exclusives though. The latest store will stock on-trend flatforms as well as something for the boys with a menswear range unavailable anywhere else. What we’re most excited for though is the selection of animal print 2750s that bring this hundred-year-old brand straight into the 21st century. Looking at the new collection, it’s hard to believe that the original design has been in production since 1925 but the simple plimsolls have been refreshed with a choice of leopard print, snakeskin and even giraffe print available.
The store’s design matches the ethos of the brand with simple scaffolding shelves, creating an industrial feel and floor space is maximised so you can skip around the shop in your new shoes.
