What an incredible year 2014 has been for 18yr old Ella Henderson! One of the biggest selling singles of the year with chart-topper ‘Ghost‘, and a #1 debut album under her belt, it almost feels like a distant memory when she wowed the crowds at her X factor audition in 2012 with an originally written song.

Fast-forward two years and Ella’s world has been turned on it’s head. Counting Adele and Cher as fans, Ella has spent the last 6 months on a whirlwind world tour to promote her album ‘Chapter One’.
New Single ‘Yours’ is a stripped-back, poignant, heart-wrenching ballad which has already shot up on the iTunes chart from outside the top 200 to #15 ahead of it’s release in December. Check out Ella’s Top 5 diva playlist below.

Destinys Child – Bootylicious

“This song is my jam for me and my girls when we go out! My very first album I bought was a Destiny’s Child one, I’m a huge Beyonce fan”

Adele- Rumour Has It

“I love Adele full stop, but this song has a soul/blues feel to it & I love the drum beat”

Aretha Franklin – Respect

“Aretha was a musical icon for me growing up, her big, raspy vocals make me fall in love with her music every time I listen to her”

Amy Winehouse- Back To Black

“Amy’s album Back to Black was an influential one for me growing up. I would listen to her voice and be mesmerised by her old fashioned tone & how she brought a modern jazz twist back into music of today”

Alicia Keys- If I Ain’t Got You

“Alicia is an artist I admire as she is probably the most successful female that can not only sing, but also plays the piano. The piano is a key part of my songwriting so I can relate to her foundation in music”

‘Yours’  is released on December 14th.
