& Other Stories asked photographers Nadia Sarwar and Isabel Martínez to interpret the four fragrances in their eau de toilette range
As a brand known for their creative collaborations, & Other Stories have struck a fragrant note with their latest project.
In celebration of their eau de toilette launch, photographers Nadia Sarwar and Isabel Martínez were asked to capture the four scents in a series of photos.
An essential element of the & Other Stories beauty concept is that all products are truly sensorial and personal – and you don’t get much more sensorial and personal than fragrance, do you? With this in mind, the eau de toilette range adds an olfactive dimension to the visual expressions of the brand’s fashion and beauty collections.
New York-based Brit Nadia Sarwar – full-time photographer and founder of froufrouu.com – was one of the first co-creatives to work with & Other Stories. For the eau de toilette launch, she is joined by Barcelona-based Isabel Martínez.
“& Other Stories’ eau de toilettes have a subtle scent that changes a little bit depending on the woman who wears it. They inspired me to create four feminine and enigmatic pictures which tell a story that, as the perfume itself, depends on the imagination of the viewer. I wanted to express that when wearing the fragrance, you’re wearing a piece of poetry,” says Isabel Martínez
“The scents and specific notes evoked a beautiful nostalgia which was drawn upon to reimagine familiar yet fresh moments,” says Nadia Sarwar.
Both photographers were given free range to interpret the fragrances – ‘Fig Fiction’, ‘Punk Bouquet’, ‘Botanic Whisper’ and ‘Moroccan Tea’ – in whatever way appealed to them.
