There’s a new band on our radar, and whilst we don’t know much about them, they have already given us a hunger to find out more. Based in London, R I T U A L is a collaboration between an Irish born folk singer-songwriter, an underground hip hop producer [who’s worked with the likes of Talib Kweli] and a multi-instrumentalist who’s given his hand to dozens of the UK’s most talented singers – but their exact identity remains unknown.

Today we premiere ‘Visions’ the second track from their debut EP. In the words of R I T U A L themselves: “‘Visions’ documents the hazy realisation of the need for another. Tender and alluring, the song describes scenes of a new found intimacy…. From the songs opening line ‘Connect to me and evolve’ the dual female / male vocal explores the tension, ecstasy and craving of this new ‘habit’.” Contributing to forthcoming material of some of the UK’s most talked about new artists [Charlotte OC, Tenterhook etc] since the start of 2014, there is an undeniable buzz about R I T U A L and it’s for all the right reasons. Having released their first taster track ‘The Fall’ a burning ballad of relationships drawing on subtle elements of rural folk, r’n’b and beating drums previous to this, the introduction to their journey and their own sound well and truly began, leaving us with one question – who are R I T U A L? All we be revealed. Soon.
