PREMIERE: OWLLE – “FOG”

French electro-popstrel Owlle drops “Fog”, a sparkly swathe of simmering synths, taken from her debut LP France

French electro-popstrel Owlle burst onto the scene last year with a string of releases, remixes and covers, building hype for her forthcoming debut LP, France.

On new cut “Fog” her gallic-inflected vocal floats rhythmically over churning synths and a softly building beat that harks back to the soaring electro pop of the eighties. She’s earned comparisons to Bat for Lashes and Lykke Li and it isn’t hard to see why: there’s a strong sense of guarded emotion in her voice, fighting with the energy of the track to produce a piece of perfectly melodic pop that sits just on the ride side of melodrama.

Owlle’s debut album, France, is out in the UK on November 17th
