At surface glance it’s twisted brocade clad dolls time-travelling back to the Edwardian era, vamping-up their attire with punk sensibilities, all high knee socks and basket hats. With smeared rouge lips, unkept curls and smudged lashes, Vivienne Westwood’s Gold Label SS15 were bedraggled whilst beautiful.

Adam & Eve

Digging deeper we learnt that following Vivienne’s continued support of End Ecocide – the group pledging to facilitate a healthy and sustainable planet on which future generations are all living beings live at harmony with nature – SS15 pays homage to the children of the world drawing inspiration from them through the ages, starting with a re-imagined Eve clad in a fig-leave crotch concealing nude bikini.

With death of our planet, as caused by man, being the central theme of the collection, the hyper-feminine form focused looks came as a contrast, whilst the one man who walked in the show came as a playful addition.
