We’ve fallen head over heels for Mawi’s AW14 re-interpretation of the vintage camera bag

In case you hadn’t noticed the chill in the wind and the inevitable shortening of our daylight hours, autumn is finally here. While we’ll miss the sun, the changing of the seasons is always a source of much excitement in the Wonderland offices: new seasons mean a new wardrobe, and better yet a whole new collection of lookbooks full of stunning new items for us to lust after.

In amongst the endless images of shearling coats and woolly jumpers we found Mawi’s new AW14 lookbook, a veritable Aladdin’s cave of bags and jewels, the perfect thing to brighten up your winter wardrobe.

Although we’d happily be seen with just about anything from their new collection, we’ve got to admit we’ve got more than a bit of a soft spot for their new ‘Camera Bag’, a clever re-purposing of a traditionally practical item, which they’ve stuck through the Mawi lens and re-imagined as a piece of pseudo-cubist gem-encrusted sculpture, a gorgeously practical and roomy evening bag in black, “battle grey” or “Kermit green” leather. Instilled with a sense of futuristic pop-art minimalism thanks to the addition of brightly hued gems on the sides, it’s the perfect thing to add some pizzaz to an otherwise simple outfit with minimal effort. We know where we’re headed come payday!
