LFW: Burberry Prorsum SS15

Burberry SS15 presents The Birds and The Bees, a progressive explosion of colour continuing the sentiments of menswear SS15

The Birds and The Bees

Aptly titled The Birds and The Bees, Burberry Prorsum SS15 was an explosion of brightly coloured book designs, continuing on from the menswear show in June, oversized butterfly prints and hand-drawn honey bees. Whilst the sun was shining down on the illustrated transparent roof above Burberry’s 1500 guests in London’s Kensington Gardens, Christopher Bailey was educating us to his newly contextualised Burberry, whilst the My Burberry campaign girls, Kate Moss and Cara Delevingne, took a pew front row.

Taste the rainbow

Much like June’s menswear show, Burberry Prorsum SS15 was a progressive rainbow of colour showcased through delicate ice-cream hued tulle dresses, sheer concertina pleats, candy-floss fur bombers, rich suede jackets, book printed trench coats, glossy shell leather outerwear, digitally printed dresses and the iconic Burberry check bags re-imagined in bold colour ways. Detail came through iridescent sequins, shearling trims, textured silk, wasp waistlines and draped hemlines, whilst accessories came in the shape of the book cover print pouches, the Burberry Field Sneakers and Sandals, the Burberry Butterfly Shades along with the new Burberry Bee Bag.

Introducing James Bay

Also making an appearance at Burberry SS15 was Brighton-based British musician James Bay. Whilst his track ‘When We Were On Fire’ was part of the Burberry Prorsum Womenswear SS14 Show soundtrack, he has since performed ‘Let It Go’ for Burberry Acoustic this April and has toured many a festival this summer. Performing live at the SS15 show, James made this a performance to remember.
