Electro-duo Avec Sans give us an interesting and creative visual insight into a week in their life.
Avec Sans have been on our radar ever since we saw them play alongside Little Boots last year and heard the introductory bars to their last single ‘Shiver’.
The duo, made up of Alice Fox and Jack St. James have just unleashed the brand new track ‘All Of Time’ with an impressive remix package courtesy of Backstroke and Mausi, which alongside with their own take on the Kate Bush classic ‘Running Up That Hill’, have been tearing up the blogosphere. They kindly took time out of their busy schedule to document their week for us via the power of cinemagraphs. We love the animated idea of this so, please enjoy.
Monday: We’re editing together a video run down of some of the year. Highlights include: playing at festivals abroad, the opening a branch of Sandro in Milan and DJing to gorgeous Italians at 3am.
Tuesday: Alice: I like to make my existing clothes fit well, and I’ve started creating my own designs. We designed a shoe a while back for Swear and I’ve been inspired by Lykke Li’s recent collaboration with & Other Stories to start making the clothes that I can’t find in the shops.
Wednesday: Jack: Here I am with one of my best friends Paul Carter aka Benbrick (http://benbrick.co.uk/) in his studio. It’s always a good idea to listen to your music on another set of speakers and get a fresh pair of ears on it too. Paul is an incredible songwriter and producer so we’ll often listen to each others work and new music which is inspiring us at the moment.
Thursday: Rehearsing for our next London show at Hoxton Sq Bar and Kitchen on October 3rd. The promoter, Marzio from Lottarox, is moving to Stockholm so it should be a big party. We’re also optimistic that this might mean a trip to Sweden soon, we’re in love with the new batch of Swedish bands at the moment, bands like Kate Boy. The Swedes really know how to write great music. (Photo credit: Alex Wood)
Friday: Photoshoot with our good friend Alex Wood.
Saturday: It’s not every day that a neighbour brings round a couple of jugs of ale. We used to live next to a brothel in Shoreditch and get all of our post stolen and lost punters turning up at our door. So we’re pretty blown away by our new neighbours.
Sunday: Alice: AUTUMN!! Loving the fact that we get to wear knitwear again. Here’s a bright red scarf I knitted last year. I’ve just got the fattest pair of wooden needles so friends and family can expect some extreme knitwear come December 25th.
Avec Sans will be playing live at Hoxton Square Bar & Kitchen on October 3rd.
